It is this time of year that I am sorely reminded that I am fatherless. It hasn't been that long. Somehow, I thought that he was always going to be there. But that thing called AGING got in the way. Looking back, there are just hundreds of good memories that I cherish. I don't have space to mention them all. He gave me so many gifts: a great sense of humor, contagious smile, distinctive ears, wavy hair, joy of speaking, (talk a lot!), travel bug, love for others, but most of all my self.REMEMBER:
4 years: My Daddy can do anything!
7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.
8 years: My father does not know quite everything.
12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either.
14 years: Oh, Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned.
21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date!
25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much.
35 years: Dad sure knows a lot!
56 years: What would Dad have thought about that?
Today: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.

K. that is very nice. A good father is something special indeed. I miss mine too and I never expected him to die so young (younger than I am now!).
Bruce was such a sweet man and I am happy that I got to meet him and I am so thankful that he had kids.

...I wrote that very quote on my Dad's card... I had given him a plaque when I was 12 that had it quote on it. It is so very true.
To all those wonderful, caring dads. THANK YOU! You make your kids who they are.
Hey Kathy, very nice tribute to Dad. I have been having very vivid dreams from my birthday until Father's Day with Dad in a primary role. Seems natural that he would be there. I'm not surprised until I wake up.
