Internment camps, the Doukhobors, the mines, the draft dodgers, lots of fascinating stuff. Beautiful country to migrate too.

Now since you are sitting at the airport, it should give you time to blog. . . bo jo!kevel88https://www.blogger.com/profile/14523415032685646085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-986654720186402793.post-38846175125311455312009-11-02T17:47:19.711-08:002009-11-02T17:47:19.711-08:00Hey I know that place.

Our Dukabohr history is a flavorful one to say the least. Starting at the prospects of of an immenent American interest in the area, with the desire of annexing the West Kootenays for their abundance of silver. It was at the time heavily populated by miners from the state of Colorado.
Ergo all the names from towns from that state. Silverton, New Denver, etc.
Not much has been written from an actual Dukabohr perspective, but Canada, behaved rather poorly at times, with an essentially non violent and peaceful bunch.
The first hippies probably.
Lots to explore in their history, and being very private people, that can prove difficult.
Great farmers though.
Sorry to ramble, but I'm stuck in the O'Hare airport waitin to fly south.
ToodlesBOBOJOJOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16965384188564008285noreply@blogger.com
